Join a family support group
Family support groups are for relatives, partners and friends who are affected by a loved one’s substance misuse
Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs (Scottish Families) aims to support families who are affected by someone else’s alcohol and/or drug misuse and raise awareness of the issues that affect them. It was set up in 2003 by concerned parents who wanted a national organisation that could support them and advocate at a national level on issues which affect them through others’ drugs misuse.
The groups offer an opportunity to meet others who are experiencing, or have experienced, similar circumstances.
Find your nearest group using our searchable services directory. Each group listing includes a phone number for the group’s contact person. They can often arrange a one-to-one meeting so you can learn more and decide if it is right for you before attending a group meeting.
