National

Alcohol and Drug Partnerships: Multi-agency groups working within defined geographical areas to address drink and drugs issues. Visit the Scottish Drugs Forum website for a full contacts list of ADPs. In Scotland.

Breathing Space: Free, confidential service for anyone experiencing low mood or depression, or who is unusually worried and in need of someone to talk to.

Counselling Directory: Large database of counsellors, searchable by postcode. Also provides information about types of therapies.

Families Outside: Raises awareness of the needs of families affected by imprisonment so that they can get the information and support they need.

Hepatitis C Scotland: Provides the latest guidance for healthcare professionals, patients and carers. Also explains the Scottish Government’s Hepatitis C Action Plan for Scotland.

HIV-Aids Carers & Family Service Provider Scotland: Provides a range of practical and emotional services to carers, families, partners and relatives affected by or infected with HIV or Aids.

inexcesstv: a website and other resources including a magazine for carers, offering help and support for people and families dealing with drug and alcohol problems

Know the Score: Provides information, advice and resources about drugs to help you become more aware of drugs and their effects.

Re-Solve: Aims to end volatile substance abuse, particularly among children and young people.

Scottish Drugs Service: Information about more than 200 Scottish agencies who can help with drug treatment and care.

Scottish Drugs Forum: National non-government drugs policy and information agency working to co-ordinate effective responses to drug use in Scotland.

Scottish Child Law Centre: Provides expert advice and information to children and young people, their families and carers, and professionals working for and with children.

Aberdeen

Drugs Action – Aberdeen:
Provides a range of services to drug users, families and communities including a helpline, family support group, counselling and needle exchange.

Edinburgh

Crew 2000: Provides services to young people around drug use, sexual and emotional health and other related lifestyle issues. Also provides advice, information and training to a public and voluntary sector organisations.

Carers Net, Edinburgh and Lothian: Supports people who provide unpaid care to family, partners or friends.

Fife

Drug & Alcohol Project Levenmouth: One-to-one counselling, support, information and advice to individuals and families affected by substance use and live within Levenmouth, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes or North East Fife.

Glasgow

Family Addiction Support Services (FASS): Helps families and individuals to cope with the effects of addiction.

Lothian

Mid and East Lothian Drugs (MELD): Provides local, confidential and non-judgemental services to reduce substance misuse-related harm.

Stirling

Stirling Family Support Services: Provides support, information and training to individuals, families and communities on issues relating to a family member’s substance misuse.
