East Ayrshire Advocacy Services

Providing a free, independent advocacy service, enabling local people with a range of support needs to be heard. Individual or issue-based advocacy is provided by advocates who support people to represent their own interests or represent the views of an individual, if the person is unable to do this themselves. They provide support on specific issues and provide information (but not advice), and this support can be short- or long-term.

• help people to access recovery support groups and activities,
• accompany people to medical appointments or meetings,
• support people to contact agencies such as DWP, Housing, Addiction services,
• assist in relapse prevention etc
