Partners in Advocacy – Edinburgh
Service Provision
Currently within the Edinburgh area we provide the following services –
One to one, issue based advocacy
- People with a learning disability, 16 years old or older, who have a known diagnosis and this includes conditions such as autism.
- People with physical disability, 16 years and older. Under this section of our work this includes a person with a brain injury or a dementia.
- Older people aged 65 years and older, who has nobody else to speak on their behalf.
Group/collective advocacy
- Older people with a shared goal.
- People with physical disability with a shared goal.
Children and young people’s advocacy
- 5-19 years old with an additional support needs in school (not including looked after children) in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
- If you are aged 5-18 and have an upcoming Children’s Hearing in Dundee, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Edinburgh, Inverclyde, South Lanarkshire or West Dunbartonshire, They can help by ensuring the child has the opportunity to have their views and opinions are heard regarding decisions being made about their lives.
- 12 – 15 years old who wish to challenge decisions being made by education authorities across Scotland.
