We aim to enhance the lives of individuals affected by a family member, friend or partner’s substance use through the provision of a dedicated programme of support, including information and advice, counselling, peer support, and complimentary therapies.

  • Complimentary therapies offered as part of a stress management programme
  • Counselling sessions – we offer counselling support to adults who are involved with the service and are struggling to cope with difficult issues. This may include coping with a loved one’s drug or alcohol use, with parenting a grandchild or family member as a result of another’s addiction issues or general day to day stresses and challenges
  • Girls @ S4F (Counselling service) –  S4F has a service specifically for girls. This is in recognition of the fact that, although boys have challenges too, there are impacts on girls that require specific understanding and targeted support.  Girls@S4F works with anyone identifying as a girl or young woman between the age of 12-18 yrs
  • Peer support group held once a month
  • Respite – A key service both for families at a personal level but also as a preventative service. Respite can help alleviate some of the stress of the family situation and in turn help prevent further ill health and its impact on quality of life, social relationships and employment. Symptoms such as stress, anxiety worry, guilt, and depression are common experience of living with a drug user in the family. We offer a range of respite services both directly and through third parties.
