Legal aid is help towards the costs of legal advice and representation for those who qualify, paid for out of public funds. It is designed to help individuals on low and modest incomes gain access to the legal system. The Scottish Legal Aid Board has an information line.

Child Maintenance Service

Previously child support agency it’s role is to make sure that parents who live apart from their children contribute financially to their upkeep by paying child maintenance.

The Acas Helpline is the place to go for both employers and employees who are involved in an employment dispute or are seeking information on employment rights and rules.
